Permits to be invalid in case of non-payment of tax within the prescribed period. - Notwithstanding anything contained in Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Act 59 of 1988), if the tax due in respect of a transport vehicle is not paid within the prescribed period, the permit shall be invalid from the date of expiry of the prescribed period till the tax is actually paid.
