Jurisdiction of Registrars.- (i) In both rural and urban area, the jurisdiction for registration of compulsory marriage will have the same territorial limit, as is fixed for registration of birth and death. (ii) Every Registrar of Marriage shall be empowered to register a marriage solemnized within the local area of his jurisdiction or a marriage solemnized outside his jurisdiction, between persons at least one of whom is resident within his jurisdiction.
