(1) The Assistant Executive Engineer, or any person on his behalf, entering any land, building or other property shall ascertain and record the extent of the damage, if any, caused by such entry, or in the execution of any work or operation to any crop, tree, building or any property and the value of material taken or utilised and, within one month from the date of such entry, compensation shall be tendered by him to the owner or occupier of the property. (2) If such owner or occupier is not satisfied with compensation provided under sub-section (1), he may inform the Assistant Executive Engineer concerned accordingly and the Assistant Executive Engineer shall forthwith refer the matter for the purpose of determining the amount of compensation to the Executive Engineer. (3) The prescribed authority may, at any time, or on the application made by any aggrieved person, revise or modify the order of the Assistant Executive Engineer under sub-section (1) or the Executive Engineer under sub-section (2) and its decision thereon shall be final.
