Rent Authority.—The District Collector or District Magistrate shall, with the previous approval of the Government, appoint an officer, not below the rank of Deputy Collector, to be the Rent Authority within his jurisdiction. 31.Power and procedure of Rent Authority.— The Rent Authority shall have all the powers as are vested in a Rent Court under this Act in respect of any proceedings initiated under sections 4, 9, 10, 14, 15, 19 or section 20 and the procedure as laid down in sections 35 and 36 shall apply in such proceedings. 16 The J&K Official Gazette, 1st Nov., 2025/10th Kart., 1947.
