(1) This Act may be called the Prevention of Ribbon Development Act, 2007. (2) It shall extend to 1 [the whole of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] excepting the areas 2 [other than roads maintained by the 3 [Central Government or the Public Works Department of the 4 [State]] included within the limits of municipalities and town areas. 5 (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification, direct.
