1 [7. Authorities under the Act.—(1) For carrying out the purposes of this Act, the Government shall appoint one or more persons as the Commissioners under this Act and such other persons to assist him as it thinks fit in this behalf.] (2) The Commissioner and the persons appointed under sub-section (1) shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be assigned to them under this Act.
