Whoever,–– (a) being a medical practitioner or a person openly and constantly practising the medical profession, and in the course of such practice becoming cognizant of the existence of any infectious disease in any dwelling other than a public hospital ; or (b) being the owner or occupier of such dwelling and being cognizant of the existence of the disease therein ; or (c) being the person incharge of or in attendance on any person suffering from any such disease in such dwelling and being cognizant of the existence of the disease therein ; fails forthwith to give information, or knowingly gives false information to the Health Officer or to any other officer to whom the municipality may require information to be given respecting the existence of such disease, shall be punishable with a fine which shall not be less than one hundred rupees and more than one thousand rupees.
