Section 102

Supply of water for other than domestic purposes.

(1) The municipality may supply water for any purpose other than a domestic purpose, on receiving a written application specifying the purpose for which such supply is required and the quantity likely to be consumed : Provided that for building purposes, water supply shall be made for a period of one year in the first instance, on an application accompanied by a copy of a building plan duly sanctioned by the competent authority and thereafter be extended, by six months at a time for a period of not exceeding the period allowed for the completion of the construction or for three years, whichever is less : Provided further that the water supply made, for the building purposes, on or before the commencement of this Act shall continue for a period of three years reckoned from such commencement. (2) For all water supplied under sub-section (1) payment shall be made at a rate not less than the rate prescribed under sub-section (2) of section 101. (3) The municipality may withdraw such supply at any time if it should appear necessary to do so in order to maintain sufficient supply of water for domestic purposes.
