1 [16A. Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority. ––(1) The Government may, by notification, establish a Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority for each of the Metropolitan Regions notified under clause (n) of sub-section (1) of section 2 of this Act. (2) The Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority constituted under subsection (1) shall form a part of the Srinagar Metropolitan Region Development Authority, or, as the case may be, of Jammu Metropolitan Region Development Authority, constituted by the Government in terms of section 3 of this Act. (3)The Unified Metropolitan Transport Authorities shall function under the superintendence and control of the respective Metropolitan Region Development Authorities, and any expenses incurred or any income accrued on account of the functioning of the Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority shall be made out of or paid into, as the case may be, the fund of the respective Metropolitan Region Development Authority.
