(1) This Act may be called the Jammu and Kashmir Handicrafts (Quality Control) Act, 1978. (2) It shall extend to the 1 [whole of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir]. (3) It shall come into force on such 2 date as the Government may by notification in the * [Government Gazette], appoint and different dates may be appointed for different handicrafts and for different areas.
