(1) Any registered person who contravenes any rule, notice, direction or order made under this Act, the breach of which is not otherwise provided for, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend, –– (a) on a first conviction, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees, or with both ; and (b) on any subsequent conviction, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both. (2) Any person who commits an offence made punishable by this section which is not a cognizable offence as defined in the 1 [Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974)] may be arrested without a warrant by any officer-in-charge of a police station or by any police officer not below the rank of a Sub-Inspector.
