Section 4

Offences under this Act to be cognizable.

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in 1 [the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974)], any offence under this Act shall be deemed to be cognizable offence within the meaning of that Code. (2) No Court below a 2 [Judicial Magistrate] of the first class shall try any offence under this Act.
