Criminal breach of trust by carrier, etc

Whoever, being entrusted with property as a carrier, wharfinger or warehouse-keeper, commits criminal breach of trust in respect of such property, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine. CLASSIFICATION OF OFFENCE Punishment--Imprisonment for 7 years and fine--Cognizable--Non-bailable--Triable by Magistrate of the first class--Compoundable by the owner of the property in respect of which the breach of trust has been committed with the permission of the Court.
