The functions of the Special Area Development Authority shall be:- (i) to prepare, if required to do so, the development plan for the special area; (ii) to implement the development plan after its approval by the State Government; (iii) for the purpose of implementation of the plan, to acquire, hold, develop, manage and dispose of land and other property; (iv) to carry out construction activity and to provide such utilities and amenities as water, electricity, drainage and the like; (v) provide the municipal services as specified in the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Act, 1994;* (vi) to provide for the municipal management of the special area in the same manner as is provided in the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Act, 1994;* (vii) to otherwise perform all such functions with regard to the special area as the State Government may, from time to time, direct:- Provided that functions specified in clauses (v) and (vi) shall not be performed unless so required by the State Government.
