Academic Council.- (1) The Academic Council shall be the academic body of the University. (2) The constitution of the Academic Council and the term of office of its members shall be as laid down in the Statutes: Provided that the total membership of the Academic Council shall in no case exceed sixty five. (3) The Academic Council shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes, and the Ordinances, have the control and general regulation, and be responsible for the maintenance of standards and methods of instruction, evaluation, education, examination and research in the University, prescribe courses of study and shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed upon it by the Statutes. (4) The Academic Council shall have the right to advise the Executive Council on all academic matters.
