Establishment and in corporation of the University.- (1) There shall be constituted in the State of Himachal Pradesh, a University by the name of “The Sardar Patel University Mandi, Himachal Pradesh”. (2) The first Chancellor, the first Vice-Chancellor of the University and the first members of the Court, the Executive Council and the Academic Council and all persons who may hereafter become such officers or members so long as they continue to hold such office or membership are hereby constituted a body corporate by the name of “Sardar Patel University Mandi, Himachal Pradesh” with headquarters at Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. (3) The University shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and shall by the said name sue or be sued.
