Appeals from orders of punishment.- An appeal against any order of punishment passed against a Police Officer under this Act or the rules made thereunder shall lie- (i) where the order is passed by the Director-General of Police, to the State Government; (ii) where the order is passed by an officer subordinate to the Director-General of Police, to the next higher-ranking officer in the police hierarchy in that organization.
