Certificate of appointment.- (1) Every Non-Gazetted Officer of the Armed Police on first appointment shall be issued a certificate of appointment in the form given in Schedule-II to this Act and insignia bearing the acronym ‘H.P.A.P.’ and a distinctive enrolment number that shall run serially for the entire Armed Police, separately for the Non-Gazetted Police Officers Grade-II, and for Non-Gazetted Police Officers Grade-I. (2) The certificate of appointment and insignia shall be deemed as withdrawn and shall be surrendered forthwith in case the Police Officer ceases to be a member of the Armed Police, and shall be deposited with the appointing authority in case he has been suspended from the service.
