Certificate of appointment.- (1) Each Non-Gazetted Civil Police Officer on first appointment, shall be issued a certificate of appointment in the form given in Schedule-II to this Act, an insignia bearing the acronym ‘H.P.P.’ and a distinctive enrolment number from a District Roll for a member of the District Cadre and from a State Roll for a member of the State Cadre. (2) Each Gazetted Police Officer other than a Member of the Indian Police Service on first appointment to the service shall be issued an insignia bearing the acronym ‘H.P.S.’ (3) The Certificate of appointment and insignia shall be deemed as withdrawn and shall be surrendered forthwith to the appointing authority, in case the Police Officer ceases to be a member of the State Police Service, and shall be deposited with the appointing authority in case he has been suspended from the Service.
