Making a false misleading statement.- Whoever knowingly makes a false statement or a statement which is misleading in material particulars to a Police Officer for the purpose of obtaining undue benefit or for the purpose of causing intentional harm to any person shall, on conviction, be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees.
