Directions to keep order on public roads.- A Magistrate or the District Superintendent of Police, or any other Police Officer not below the rank of Sub-Inspector authorized by him by a general or special order, may give reasonable directions to the public to keep order on public roads and streets, thoroughfares, ghats, landing-places, railway stations, airports and any other public places, in order to prevent obstruction, injury, harm, health hazard, or annoyance to the public, or damage to property.
