Bye-laws.- (1) A Panchayat may make bye-laws consistent with this Act and rules made thereunder. (2) In making bye-laws under sub-section (1) the Panchayat may direct that a breach thereof shall be punishable with a fine which may extend to two hundred and fifty rupees and in the case of the continuing breach with a further fine which may extend to five rupees for every day during which the breach continues after the first conviction. (3) A bye-law shall not come into force until it has been confirmed by the prescribed authority. (4) The manner of making bye-laws and their approval shall be such as may be prescribed.
