Definitions.- In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,- (a) "auxiliary nurse midwife" means a person who has passed an examination prescribed in this behalf by the Council; (b) "bye-laws" means bye-laws made under section 22 or section 23; (c) "Council" means the Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council established under section 3; (d) "dai" means any person, whether following a hereditary occupation or not, who ordinarily practises midwifery for gain and who has not passed any of the examinations in midwifery recognised by the Council; (e) "health visitor" means a person who has obtained health visitor’s certificate from any health school, institution or examining body registered under sub-section (2) of section 18;
