Repeal of H.P. Ordinance No. 2 of 2016 and savings. ___________ THE HIMACHAL PRADESH NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITYACT, 2016 (ACT NO. 16 OF 2016)1 (Received the assent of the Governor on the 28th September, 2016 and was published both in Hindi and English in the Rajpatra, Himachal Pradesh, dated 1st October, 2016, pp.4719-4769). An Act to provide for the establishment of a University by the name of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto for advancement of cause of learning, teaching, research and dissemination of knowledge in the field of law. WHEREAS, it is considered necessary to encourage the establishment of a national level institution of excellence in the field of legal education and research in the State of Himachal Pradesh; AND WHEREAS, in furtherance to this object, the Government of Himachal Pradesh and the High Court of Himachal Pradesh have taken unto themselves the complete project of developing the integrated complex and running the National Law University at Shimla, for attainment of this object; AND WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient to establish the National Law University for the purpose hereinbefore appearing. BE it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Himachal Pradesh in the Sixty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
