Time for holding meetings.- (1) Every municipality shall meet for the transaction of business at least once in every month at such time as may, from time to time, be fixed by the bye-laws. (2) The President or, in his absence or during his incapability to attend to his duties or during the vacancy of his office, the Vice- President may, whenever he thinks fit and shall, within a period of ten days from the date of receipt of a requisition signed by not less than one-half of the total number of members of the municipality, convene either an ordinary or a special meeting at any other time: Provided that the requisition shall specify the purpose for which the meeting is to be held. (3) If the President or the Vice-President fails to convene a meeting of the municipality within a period of ten days from the date of receipt of such requisition, the members who signed the requisition may request the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) to convene the meeting. (4) The Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) on receipt of request under sub-section (3) shall within a period of ten days of such request, convene the meeting. 37
