Resignation of member of municipality.- (1) The member of a municipality may resign by tendering his resignation in writing to the President who shall place the same before the municipality for its acceptance, unless withdrawn within fifteen days from the date of tendering the resignation. (2) On the acceptance of the resignation under sub-section (1) the seat of the member shall be deemed to have become vacant and the same be filled up under section 19 of this Act.
