Prohibition of cinematographs and dramatic performances except in licensed premises.- (1) No exhibition of pictures or other optical effects by means of a cinematograph or other similar apparatus for the purpose of which inflammable films are used, and no public dramatic or circus performance or pantomime, shall be given in any municipality elsewhere than in premises for which a licence has been granted by the municipality under this section. (2) If the owner of a cinematograph or other apparatus uses the apparatus or allows it to be used, or if any person takes part in any public dramatic or circus performance or pantomime, or if the occupier of any premises allows those premises to be used, in contravention of the provisions of this section, or of any condition of a licence granted under this section, he shall be liable to a fine which shall not be less than twenty-five rupees and more than two hundred rupees and in the case of a continuing offence to a further penalty of fifty rupees for each day during which the offence continues and the licence, if any, shall be liable to be revoked by the municipality.
