Power to acquire canals by consent or otherwise.- Whenever it appears to the Government expedient in the public interest to acquire any 20 THE HIMACHAL PRADESH MINOR CANALS ACT, 1976 canal, the State Government may acquire the said canal under the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (1 of 1894).
