Power to enter for repairs and to prevent accidents.- (1) In case of any accident happening or being apprehended to a canal, the Collector or any person acting under his general or special orders in this behalf may enter upon any land adjacent to such canal, and may execute all works which may be necessary for the purpose of repairing or preventing such accident. 10 THE HIMACHAL PRADESH MINOR CANALS ACT, 1976 (2) Compensation for damage to lands.- In every case under sub-section (1), the Collector shall, upon application made to him in this behalf, assess and pay compensation under section 49 for any damage which may be occasioned by any proceeding under this section.
