Repeal and savings.-- (1) The Punjab Backward Classes (Grant of Loans) Act, 1957 (17 of 1957) in its application to the territories added to the Union territory of Himachal Pradesh by section 5 of the Punjab Re- organisation Act, 1966 (31 of 1966), is hereby repealed: Provided that such repeal shall not affect- (a) the previous operation of the said Act or anything duly done or suffered thereunder; or (b) any right, privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under the said Act; or (c) any penalty, forfeiture or punishment incurred in respect of any offence committed against the said Act; or (d) any investigation, legal proceeding or remedy in respect of any such right, privilege, obligation, liability, penalty, forfeiture or punishment as aforesaid; and any such investigation, legal proceeding or remedy may be instituted, continued or enforced and any such penalty, forfeiture or punishment may be imposed as if the said Act had not been repealed. (2) Any loan granted under the Act repealed by sub-section (1) shall be deemed to be a loan granted under this Act and the amount of such loan outstanding at the commencement of this Act shall be recovered under the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder. ________
