Regulation of marketing of notified agricultural produce

Regulation of marketing of notified agricultural produce.- (1) No person shall, except in accordance with the provisions of this Act or rules or bye-laws made thereunder,- (i) use any place in the market area for the marketing of notified agricultural produce; and (ii) operate in the market area as a market functionary. (2) Nothing in sub-section (1) shall apply to the following sale or purchase of such agricultural produce,- H. P. AGRICULTURAL AND HORTICULTURAL PRODUCE MARKETING 19 (DEVELOPMENT AND REGULATION) ACT, 2005 (i) where the sale is made by the producer himself to any person for his domestic consumption in quantity upto the prescribed limit; (ii) purchase or sale of which is made by a petty trader as may be prescribed; and (iii) purchase of which is made by an authorized fair price shop dealer from the Food Corporation of India, the State Commodities Trading Corporation or any other agency or institution authorized by the State Government for distribution of the essential commodities through the Public Distribution System.
