No act done, or proceeding taken, under this Act by any authority or other body of the University shall be invalid merely on the ground of any- (a) vacancy or defect in the constitution of the authority or body; or (b) defect or irregularity in election, nomination or appointment of a person acting as a member thereof; or (c) defect or irregularity in such act or proceeding, not affecting the merits of the case. 21 Certain disputes to be referred to Chancellor.
