The Academic Council shall consist of the following persons namely:- I. ex-officio members:- (i) Vice-Chancellor (Chairperson); Academic Council and its constitution. Act 27] 352 (ii) Director, Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal; (iii) Director General, Health Services, Haryana; (iv) Principal, Dental College, University of Health Sciences, Karnal; (v) Dean, Academic Affairs; (vi) Dean, Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal; (vii) Deans of Faculties of the University; (viii) Dean of Students’ Welfare, if any; (ix) All heads of Medical and Dental specialties in Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal and Dental College, University of Health Sciences, Karnal; (x) Principals of constituent college such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy etc; (xi) Controller of Examinations, University of Health Sciences, Karnal; (xii) Chief Vigilance Officer, University of Health Sciences, Karnal; (xiii) Heads of all Colleges affiliated to the University, not represented by the Deans of Faculties; and (xiv) Registrar-Member-Secretary. II. Other Members:- (i) all Chairman of Board of Studies; (ii) four professor (Medical) and one professor (Dental) from Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal and Dental College, University of Health Sciences, Karnal, as per seniority by rotation; (iii) two eminent experts in health sciences education, who are from outside the University or its affiliated colleges, nominated by the Vice-Chancellor; (iv) one person from each category of assistant professor/associate professor/professor by rotation as per seniority from Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal; (v) one teacher from Dental College, University of Health Sciences, Karnal by rotation as per seniority; (vi) one teacher from affiliated Medical Colleges as per seniority from the date of inception of the college by rotation; and (vii) two teachers from affiliated Dental Colleges as per seniority from the date of inception of the college by rotation. Two-fifths of the members shall form a quorum. V. Save as otherwise expressly provided, the members of the Academic Council, other than Ex-officio members, shall hold office for a term of two years: Provided that any other Chairman/Officer of the University whose association is necessaryregarding a particular item may be invited to attend the meeting. However, the special invitee shall not have any right to vote.
