(1) The Director of the Students’ Welfare shall be a whole time officer of the University and shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor with the approval of the Board. (2) The Director of the Students’ Welfare shall perform the following duties, namely:- (a) to make arrangements for housing of the students; (b) to make programmes of students’ counselling; (c) to arrange employment of the students in accordance with the plans approved by the Vice-Chancellor; (d) to supervise the extra-curricular activities of the students; (e) to assist placement of the students of the University; (f) to organize and maintain contact with the alumni of the University; and (g) to ensure maintenance of discipline by the students. (3) The Director of the Students’ Welfare shall be responsible for the custody, maintenance and management of all the buildings, lawns, gardens, playgrounds and other properties of the University.
