(1) The Registrar shall be a whole-time officer of the University and shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor with the approval of the Board on the recommendation of State Government from amongst the persons, having the following qualifications and experience: (i) at least fifteen years experience as Assistant Professor or eight years experience as Associate Professor in recognized university or college alongwith experience in educational administration; or (ii) equivalent experience in research establishment or other institutions of higher education; or (iii) fifteen years of administrative experience of which at least eight years as Deputy Registrar or on an equivalent post. (2) The Registrar shall be the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and work directly under the superintendence, direction and control of the Vice-Chancellor.
