(1) A Society may change its name after getting the proposed new name approved from the District Registrar in the manner prescribed. After approval of name, the person authorised by the Society shall submit an application for change of name alongwith the prescribed fee and a copy of the special resolution to the District Registrar. (2) The District Registrar shall register the change in the name of the Society by entering the new name in the register in place of the former one and issue a fresh certificate of registration, comprising the old, as well as the changed name, with necessary alternations embodied therein. The change of name shall be valid only upon issue of such a certificate.
