(1) The Superintendent may give a reward fixed on the consideration of all the circumstances but in no case exceeding Rs. 10,000 for the recapture of any escaped prisoner irrespective of the prisoner’s sentence. (2) Whenever peculiar circumstances render it expedient to officer a large reward, special application shall be made to the Director General who is empowered to sanction upto Rs. one lakh for the recapture of any prisoner. In case, the Director General considers that a still higher reward is necessary, he shall refer the case for the orders of the Government. 1388 HARYANA GOVT. GAZ. (EXTRA.), DEC. 30, 2022 (PAUS. 9, 1944 SAKA) (3) No rewards for the recapture of a prisoner who escape from the custody of the police shall be paid by the Department. NOTE 1.- Any Government servant may receive without special permission, any reward offered for the arrest of a criminal etc. NOTE 2.- When two or more persons have been instrumental in the recapture of any prisoner who has escaped from the prison, the reward shall be divided amongst them in such manner as the Director General may direct.
