(1) A control room shall be setup in every prison from where all the CCTVs, wireless sets and intercom shall be monitored and controlled. (2) The control room shall function under the supervision of the Superintendent assisted by the Deputy Superintendent (Security) and Assistant Superintendent. The duty officer shall be responsible for its effective working. (3) A staff member shall always be deployed in the control room who shall be responsible for the care, maintenance and proper functioning of all the equipment installed in the control room. If any equipment is found to be in non-working condition, the duty officer shall immediately be informed who shall make all endeavours to rectify the errors as soon as possible. (4) A landline phone shall be installed in the control room and the staff member present on duty shall attend to all incoming calls and shall also be responsible for receiving and sending the messages through e-mail and other electronic modes. (5) All the officers and other staff members present on duty shall inform the control room through wireless set, intercom or any other source of communication available, about any significant incident without any delay. (6) A register in the form of Diary of Events/Control Room Register shall be maintained in the control room in which the date and time of receiving all significant informations/reports shall be entered by the staff member on duty designated for this purpose. The duty officer shall escalate the matter to the Deputy Superintendent concerned and the Superintendent. (7) A staff member shall be deployed exclusively to monitor the live footage, to keep a watch on every activity inside the prison premises and inform the Deputy Superintendent (Security) and the Superintendent about any suspicious movement or unlawful activity or any other incident/ matter of interest noticed by him.
