(1) It shall be the duty of the District Magistrate to visit prisons once in a year under his territorial jurisdiction and to satisfy himself that provisions of the Act, and all the rules, regulations, directions, and orders made or issued thereunder, applicable to such prisons, are duly observed and enforced. (2) The District Magistrate may visit any part of the prison and may call for any record during the inspection. Record of inspection.
