(1) The technical personnel shall be responsible for the development of programs for vocational training and diversified productive work as an important component of the reformative process. (2) While technically qualified and trained staff has to provide knowledge and skills for economic rehabilitation, the other staff shall ensure proper maintenance of the prison infrastructure. (3) Technical personnel shall perform the following functions, namely:- (a) conducting vocational aptitude test of the inmates including their interviews and collection of data about inmates, vocational history, skill abilities and interests; (b) offering suggestions as to possible, effective and appropriate work and vocational training programs for inmates; (c) preparation of plans for vocational training projects; (d) imparting apprenticeship on the job and vocational training to inmates; (e) utilization of resources of service and maintenance unit for training purposes; (f) arranging arts and handicrafts projects; (g) training of prisoners; (h) maintaining progress reports of the training of prisoners; (I) keeping the equipment and machines in the workshop in good working condition, proper custody and maintenance of shops and factories; 1332 HARYANA GOVT. (EXTRA.), DEC. 30, 2022 (PAUS. 9, 1944 SAKA) (j) ensuring adoption of appropriate safety measures in the workshops and factory areas; (k) maintenance of discipline in the area under their charge, attending emergency situations; (l) distribution of work to inmates; (m) maintaining muster rolls of inmates working in various sections; (n) supplying inmates with production tools and materials; (o) supervision over quality and quantity of production; (p) maintaining work sheets; (q) measurement of tasks and apportionment of wages; (r) indenting raw material from the Store Keeper storing raw material in their charge, maintaining accounts of raw material and manufactured articles in their charge, dispatch of manufactured articles to the Store Keeper, monthly checking of stores under their charge and reporting the same to the authorities concerned; (s) preparation of work plans for work-sheds under their control and forwarding them to the Superintendent.
