Section 531

(1) Only cases of sick prisoners shall be entered in any of the prescribed medical registers

(1) Only cases of sick prisoners shall be entered in any of the prescribed medical registers. If any staff member receives treatment, a separate record may be kept. (2) The in-patient register shall be maintained under the control and responsibility of the Medical Officer (in charge), who himself shall enter the details of the patient’s disease in accordance with the revised nomenclature of diseases, employed in the monthly return of sick prisoners. (3) In the out-patients’ register, the details of all prisoners under treatment for such minor ailments as do not render admission to hospital necessary, shall be entered. (4) Hospital roll of sick diets and extras shall be maintained. (5) In the prescription book, every prescription issued for prisoners under observation shall be entered. (6) Prescriptions for out-patients and prisoners in the invalid group may be entered in a separate book. (7) Any other register as Medical Officer (in charge) deems necessary and suitable for his duties. Security of medical staff.
