(1) The following scales of clothing, bedding and footwear are prescribed for convicts, - Male Female Pyjama/Kurta- 2 sets per year (White) Salwar, Kameez, Chunni- 2 sets per year (sky blue) Replaceable by Sari (sky blue) Undergarments- 3 sets per year Undergarments- 3 sets per year Towel- 3 per year Towel-3 per year Slippers- 1 per year Slippers- 1 per year Country shoe-1 per year Country shoe-1 per year Socks- 2 pair cotton and 1 pair woolen per year Socks- 2 pair cotton and 1 pair woolen per year Durry– 1 every three years Bed sheets– 2 every two years. (2) Summers shall be deemed to be from 1st April to 30th September and Winters from 1st October to 31st March. However, the Director General keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions may prepone or delay the onset of summer or winter suitably. (3) In winters, one extra blanket shall be given to each prisoner. (4) During severe cold season, preferably from 15th December to 15th February, an extra blanket may be given to a prisoner as per requirement. Note.— Blanket shall be provided with washable cloth cover. (2) Female convict officer shall wear the same articles of clothing as ordinary female convicts but of pink colour. (3) Convict officer doing duty outside barracks at night shall be provided with a warm jacket or a woolen shawl during winter season. Supply of prison clothing etc, to certain prisoners.
