(1) Diet and all other facilities shall be admissible to a detenu at par with the undertrial prisoners unless there is any provision to the contrary in the law under which he has been detained, or the competent authority authorizing the detention directs otherwise. (2) The District Superintendent of police or any other police officer authorised by him in this behalf may take photographs or biometrics of any detenu in prison in connection with the discharge of his official duty or in exercise of any power conferred upon him by or under any law for the time being in force.
