(1) Subject to availability of the official, executions shall be carried out by the hangman and in case of non-availability, the same shall be carried out by his assistant or some trustworthy individual specially engaged for the purpose. (2) On the first occasion of the employment of any person to perform the work of hangman, the Superintendent shall satisfy himself that he understands how to perform the duty. Such person shall reside at the prison for two days prior to the day fixed for the execution. Armed guard to be present at every execution.
