When a female prisoner sentenced to death declares herself to be pregnant and the Medical Officer is unable to attest to the truth or otherwise of the statement, he shall record the fact and the interval of time necessary to enable him to decide on the point, in his journal. A copy of this record along with the warrant shall be forwarded to the Sessions Judge. Sentence may be postponed or commuted.
