The number of warders required for guarding condemned prisoners and their duty hours is as follows namely :- (a) to furnish one sentry for continuous day and night duty over a condemned prisoner, three guarding personnel are required each to give eight hours of duty. Continuous day and night duty over a condemned prisoner shall be ensured by deploying three guarding personnel who shall be required to give duty of eight hours each; HARYANA GOVT. GAZ. (EXTRA.), DEC. 30, 2022 (PAUS. 9, 1944 SAKA) 1297 (b) when there are two or more condemned prisoners confined in a prison at the same time, in cells situated at some distance from one another, a separate guarding personnel shall be placed over each cell, but if the cells are contiguous, one guarding personnel shall be posted to guard a maximum of four prisoners; (c) for any number of cells in excess of four, extra guarding personnel shall be posted even when the cells are contiguous; (d) with two rows of cells facing and within a reasonable distance of each other, one guarding personnel may be given charge of any number of cells up to four on one side and four on the other; (e) when two or more cells are occupied, the sentry shall walk up and down past them, so that each prisoner guarded may be brought into view at short intervals; (f) the sentry shall be relieved as per table below :- A B C 6-9 A.M. 9-12 NOON 12-3 P.M. 3-6 P.M. 6-9 P.M. 9-11 P.M. 11-1 A.M. 1-3 A.M. 3-6 A.M.
