(1) The date fixed for the execution, the period within which petitions must be dispatched and the result of the petition in each case, shall be intimated to the condemned prisoner by the Deputy Superintendent (Administration). (2) The Superintendent, as far as practicable, shall ensure that at least one family member of the condemned prisoner is informed in writing, of the date of execution at the earliest, preferably within forty-eight hours of receipt of death warrant fixing date of execution. (3) The Superintendent shall ensure that the condemned prisoner is provided with a copy of the rejection of mercy petition by the President or the Governor, as the case may be. Cell to be examined.
