(1)Undertrial prisoners to be identified for investigation shall not be allowed to cut or shave their hair on their heads or faces or in any way to alter their appearance, to aid in identification. They shall not, however, be prevented from changing their clothes, provided that their appearance is not materially altered when they are presented for identification. The investigating officer shall give intimation to the prison authorities of cases in which identification of any under trial prisoner is to be carried out along with a full description of his appearance which he had at the time of the arrest. The test of identification parade shall be held in presence of the Judicial Magistrate concerned and may also be held online. duty of officer concerning previous convictions.
