(1) Upon receipt of intimation from the Superintendent for providing a police escort for the transfer or as the case may be, the production of prisoners, the designated police officer for the purpose shall cause adequate police guard and suitable transport to be provided for the safe and timely transfer of prisoners, according to the police regulations in force from time to time. It shall be his responsibility to ensure that the police guard reports at the prison gate, well in time. (2) The designated police officer as above shall ensure that sufficient security measures are put in place for the safe custody of high-risk prisoners during their transfer, court appearance or hospital visit. (3) Female police officials shall accompany female prisoners. Female prisoners shall be provided with conveyance as far as practicable and shall travel during the daylight. NOTE.- District Police within whose jurisdiction the prison is situated shall be responsible for providing escort and for the safe custody of the prisoner till he is re-admitted to the prison.
