(1) The Government may, with the consent of the Government of the receiving state, order for the removal of any prisoner whose confinement in a prison in the State is not in the public interest, and the unexpired portion of the actual sentence of the prisoner is more than three months at the time of considering the case. (2) The Government may also accept on transfer any prisoner from outside the state to a prison in the State in the public interest. If deemed necessary, the views of the Director General of Police and the Director General may be obtained before approving such transfer. (3) The remission and commutation rules of the convicting state shall apply to convicts transferred from outside the state. (4) In the case of an undertrial prisoner, the trial court shall be intimated of such transfer and arrangements shall be made to produce the prisoner before the trial Court on every date of hearing either physically or through electronic means.
